What’s your morning routine?  Use these five apps to add power to your morning!

Morning routines are an important start to anybody’s day.  How you structure your morning can make or break the rest of your day.  I have found five apps that really help me get started in the morning.

So many people are realizing the importance of morning routines and rituals as an intrical part of setting your day up to win!

There’s even a blog dedicated to just morning routines!  And one of my favorite motivational podcasters/authors, Tim Ferris loves to talk about his morning routine.

So, for what it’s worth, here’s my morning routine, rituals and the apps I use to get me motivated in the morning!

Morning Routine, Rituals and the Apps that Work for Me

  • I wake up around 5:30 to a most amazing app, Sleep Cycle, by NorthCube AB. This app has really helped me to sleep better as I try to improve upon my sleep data, in a never-ending quest to up the percentage of sleep quality logged and lower the minutes of snoring!

  • After swigging down a liter of room temp water, I get up, light some incense and cow dung dhoop and walk about the house doing some Reiki cleansing, affirmations and mantras at various compass points, loosening cobwebs from my mind, muscles, and chasing off stale energies.

  • Then, before I get a chance to think too much about it, yoga mat on the floor and start up a yoga class on Yoga Studio app by Gaiam.  If I feel pushed for time, I’ll only do 30 minutes, but definitely on the weekends I’ll do 60 minute class.
  • When yoga is finished, I’ll go right into a guided meditation with Insight Timer app, my favorite quickie is a 6 minute Morning Meditation by Bethany Auriel-Hagan.
  • After meditation, I’ll take a quick “India bath” (fill a bucket full of water and use a scoop to pour over you – always at ambient temp).   While putting on make up and getting dressed, I’ll chug an ice coffee with chocolate soy milk, sort of an iced coffee mocha.  (…and because I recently gave up my first love, Red Bull)
  • Then writing in my Five minute gratitude journal is a great way to really put a positive focus on the day.  I like this app better than a hardcopy!  It’s always with me and you can add photos for extra inspiration!  Reflections at the end of the day, too!
  • The last thing I do before jumping onto the computer is read a bit from some spiritual book, such as the Bible, Bhagavad-Gita, “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga”, “Chakra Yoga”.
  • Breakfast is a banana, peanut butter, chocolate soy smoothie (My fav!  From my Jamba Juice days, when I would crave their Peanut Butter Moo’d!!)  Now onto the computer and a quick check of my online shops (Ebay, Shopify, Etsy and soon to be Amazon) for customer convos that need answering.   This is also when I’ll print shipping labels for the new orders that came in overnight.
  • By then, it’s usually time to go down stairs and unlock the gate.  The ladies will arrive at nine o’clock for work in the studio.
  • If I have time, I’ll post a few pics to social media, (Instagram, Facebook Page, SnapChat).   After that, it’s time to bag up orders to take to the post office.   Using my MapMyWalk app that monitors daily mileage, I will try to walk five miles a day, and most days that’s not too hard to accomplish.  I walk everywhere in Vrindavan, even in 112 degree heat (mind over matter, you get used to it!)

And that’s my morning routine!  Nice, neat and tidy!  I love it and I love the apps that help me through the morning!

(Unfortunately, things start falling apart by evening – really need to get to work on a great evening routine!)
